Our Story

Armored Boutique was founded by Michael, an apparel industry executive from New York City. He began his career as a buyer for several chain stores nationwide, as well as his own retail stores. Today he runs pop-up stores throughout the southeast, focused on military apparel and accessories, and women's and men's fashions. 

 

Cynthia works as our social media and marketing manager. After fashion school in New York City, she worked in retail for many years, where she met Michael. They have been married for over 30 years, and she has worked closely with him in creating the pop-up stores.

Cynthia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over 20 years ago and has used her journey of learning how to live with her diagnosis to create her own Instagram page @MS_Fighting. It is a creative inspiration to anyone dealing with chronic illness. 

 

Together Cynthia and Michael also raised their daughter, Chelsea, who is now also part of the family business. 

For the past few years Chelsea has been the assistant buyer and the web designer, with a goal to expand the business by creating an online store, making it accessible to anyone. She loves the flexibility and individuality this job offers as she is also busy raising a toddler, and will soon be welcoming a second son to her family. 

 

Our store has evolved over the years, we've expanded our military selection with helpful input from the Veterans Michael meets through the pop-up stores in VA Hospitals. We curate a collection of clothing and accessories from quality materials to be versatile, seasonal, and fashionable. We want our customers to have a straightforward experience as every item is chosen to embody the principals of functionality, comfort, and style.
